Avgust Ipavec
Avgust Ipavec (* 1940 in Gorizia , Kingdom of Italy ) is a Slovenian - Austrian priest , composer and conductor .
Life
After completing his theology studies in Ljubljana , he went on to study composition at the local music college, which he also successfully completed. He has lived in Vienna since 1976 , where he works as a composer, conductor and hospital chaplain. Ipavec mainly writes works for large choirs (oratorios, masses, etc.), but also symphonies and operas.
On December 4, 2006 he was awarded the Golden Decoration of Honor of the Republic of Austria .
