Ayaka Igarashi (born May 18, 1999 ) is a Japanese ski jumper .

Career

Ayaka Igarashi starts for Shimokawa High School . She took part in two FIS Cup competitions for the first time on September 27 and 28, 2014 in Râşnov, Romania , where she won the first competition directly and took second place in the second competition. After further starts in the FIS Cup, she made her debut on September 10, 2016 in Lillehammer in the Continental Cup , where she achieved tenth place and thus her first Continental Cup points. In January 2017, she failed two attempts to take part in the World Cup competitions in Sapporo and Zaō . In the 2017/18 season she also achieved Continental Cup points in August 2017 with places 22 and 28 in Oberwiesenthal .

On September 9, 2018, she also took part in the Ski Jumping Grand Prix in Tchaikovsky for the first time and took her first Grand Prix points with 25th place.

At the 2019 Junior World Ski Championships in Lahti , Igarashi finished 19th in the individual competition and fourth in the team competition together with Rio Seto , Ren Mikase and Shihori Ōi , missing the bronze medal by just 1.3 points.

Igarashi lives in Kamikawa , Hokkaidō .
