The sideritis barbellata ( Sideritis barbellata ) is a plant of the genus sideritis ( Sideritis ) within the family of Labiatae (Lamiaceae). It is endemic to the Canary Island of La Palma .

Vegetative characteristics
The whiskered limb is a shrub and can reach heights of up to 1 meter. The above-ground parts of the plant are hairy gray-tomentose ( indument ). The leaves are ovate-elongated, pointed, notched with a heart-shaped base and a green leaf top.
Generative characteristics
The inflorescence is branched several times and consists of pseudo whorls interrupted at the bottom, each bearing 8 to 24 individual flowers. The whitish corolla is 6.5 to 9 millimeters long and is enlarged in front. It has brown lips and the calyx is hairy inside in the upper third. The teeth are triangular in shape.
Chromosome number
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 44.
Location
The whiskered limb grows only on La Palma (endemic to the island). According to R. Govaerts, the species only occurs on Gran Canaria and Hierrero. The whiskered limb grows in the transition area from the succulent bush to the woods. It is the only sideritis species on La Palma besides the Canary Island Arthropod ( Sideritis canariensis ). On El Hierro , Sideritis barbellata is replaced by Sideritis ferrensis .
