Bénéteau is a French sail and motor boat builder. The company was founded in 1884 by shipbuilder Benjamin Bénéteau in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie on the French Atlantic coast. Before the companies HanseYachts and Bavaria Yachtbau , the shipyard is the largest manufacturer of sailing yachts in the world. The production facilities are in France , Poland and the USA . The models are designed by Volanis and Bruce Farr Yacht Design , the company belongs to the Bénéteau Group, which also includes well-known shipyards such as Jeanneau and Lagoon.

The Oceanis series represents Bénéteau's range of cruising yachts, which are designed as stable boats with a lot of volume for comfortable cruising sailing . Currently (2020) the Oceanis series yachts are 30 to 55 feet.

In addition to the cruising yacht program, Bénéteau also produces boats for two standard classes:
- Bénéteau 25 A unit class co-founded by Bénéteau and recognized by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF).
- Figaro-Racer Bénéteau I to III is built according to the specifications of the Figaro one-size-class. In 2017, the third generation of this unit class was presented to the public. This boat is one of the first ocean-going series yachts to have foils with which the righting moment can be increased.
Bénéteau also makes a wide variety of cruising and sport motor boats.
