The Böhler sheets GmbH & Co KG is an Austrian steel -Sheet metal rolling mill in Mürzzuschlag , Styria.

history

The company goes back to Bleckmann Stahlwerke AG , later Phönix-Stahlwerke Joh. E. Bleckmann , which were founded in 1862 by Johann H. A. Bleckmann and which merged with the Ternitzer Schoeller Stahlwerke in 1924 to form the Schoeller-Bleckmann Stahlwerke . After nationalization in 1946, from 1975 it was with the United Stainless Steel Works (VEW), a subsidiary of VOEST . In the 1980s / 90s, the Austrian steel industry was privatized ( Austrian Industries AG , ÖIAG - Österreichische Industrieholding AG ), and the former steel group was split up.

In 1991 Böhler Bleche GmbH was founded, and with the purchase of the Swedish Uddeholm Group by VOEST, the former Bleckmann Stahlwerke became part of the Böhler-Uddeholm AG Group . In 1997 the company was converted into a GmbH & Co. KG (today's Böhler Bleche GmbH is a non-operational holding company)

In 2007, the company and its mother, Böhler-Uddeholm, were reintegrated into voestalpine .

Company profile and products

Today, the Böhler Bleche company produces cross- rolled stainless steel sheets and blanks, primarily processes tool steels , high-speed steels and aerospace materials, as well as special stainless steels, powder-metallurgical steels and press plates in the quality sector . The Ledeburitic cold work steels are sold under the brand name REGULIT.

Today the company is led by Andreas Mirtl and Helmut Ponemayr and has around 500 employees at the Mürzzuschlag site. The annual turnover in 2008 was € 134.79 million, the export quota was 88%.
