Alliance of active football fans

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Alliance of Active Football Fans ( BAFF ) is an association of individual fans, fan initiatives, magazines and fan clubs founded in 1993. Originally founded as an alliance of anti-fascist fan clubs and fan initiatives , BAFF is a member of the Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) network and is accordingly committed to combating racism and discrimination in football and the fan scene. The BAFF was renamed in 1998.

activities

In addition to ProFans and our curve, the BAFF is one of the central and nationwide alliances of fans in the Federal Republic of Germany and is involved in numerous bodies. In addition to providing critical support to football events, especially the 2006 World Cup , representatives also take part in the AG Fan Dialog of the DFB and the DFL . Beyond association institutions, the BAFF is significantly involved in the organization of fan demonstrations and supports campaigns such as the initiative to respect football fans against homophobia or emotions - legalize pyrotechnics . In addition, the alliance regularly criticizes the problematization of violence in football , which is perceived as excessive, and the central information center for sports operations , which, among other things, administers the file "violent sports" . Accordingly, it stands for fan rights and takes a position against the advancing commercialization of football.

Crime scene stadium

The Tatort Stadion exhibition has been organized by BAFF since 2001 and is already being shown in a second, revised version. This is a traveling exhibition that essentially focuses on racism , anti-Semitism and fascist tendencies in football and the fan curves. It was under the patronage of the former President of the Bundestag Wolfgang Thierse and the former football player and current functionary Michael Preetz . Other forms of discrimination, such as heterosexism and antiziganism , will also be shown in the revamped exhibition . According to BAFF, the exhibition is said to have been shown in more than 200 locations and was financed by funds from the European Union and FARE.
