kkStB 85

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The kkStB 85 were tank locomotives of the kk state railways (kkStB). The two-cylinder - wet steam -Lokomotiven with the axle formula  B are from different private companies that have been nationalized. In the course of this nationalization, the operating resources of these private railways were adapted to the kkStB numbering scheme.

The 85.00 came from the Crown Prince Rudolf-Bahn to the kkStB , the 85.01 came from the Niederösterreichische Südwestbahnen (NÖSWB) and was later classified as kkStB 83 .51. The 85.02-07 were also taken over by the NÖSWB. After the 85.05 was eliminated, a machine from the Bohemian Commercial Railways (BCB) got this number. The 85.08-09 were procured by the kkStB , the 85.10 came from the Kaiser-Ferdinands-Nordbahn (KFNB), the 85.11-14 in turn from the BCB.

It appears in the inventory of the kkStB, but at least at the beginning it should not have been owned by the kkStB. It was retired in 1902.

These six small locomotives came from the Niederösterreichische Südwestbahnen (NÖSWB) to the kkStB . At the NÖSWB they wore the numbers 2-7C . After being incorporated into the kkStB numbering scheme , they were given the numbers 85.02-07 .

The machines were delivered by the Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik in 1880 and 1881. The three locomotives of the second delivery series differed in details - such as the boiler structures - from the first delivery series.

Except for the 85.02 and the 85.06, all machines were retired until 1907. The 85.06 came after the First World War to the CSD , but was eliminated, without being included in the numbering scheme of the CSD. The 85.02 remained with the BBÖ after 1918 , which it retired in 1926.

These steam locomotives with the axle formula B n2t actually came from the Bohemian Commercial Railways (BCB). In these, they formed the IIS series . The five machines were built in 1881 by the Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik . The locomotives had no numbers, but the names KRČ , LIBAŇ (later DYMOKUR ), SADOVÁ , HOŘIC and DĚTENICE (later HOŘINOVES ).

Operation on the BCB was initially carried out by J. Muzika until June 1882, then by the Staats-Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (StEG); from 1885 the BCB ran the business itself, from 1909 the kkStB ; In 1910 the BCB became state property.

The 85.05 " was taken out of service as early as 1916, the remaining machines came to the ČSD after 1918 as the 85ö series . The ČSD retired the 85.10 on August 12, 1921; the 85.14 followed on June 21, 1922.
