kkStB 83

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The steam locomotives of the class 83 were tank locomotives of the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStb) . The two-cylinder - wet steam -Lokomotiven with the axle formula  B are from different private companies that have been nationalized. In the course of this nationalization, the operating resources of these private railways were adapted to the kkStB numbering scheme.

The machines with the numbers 83.01-02, 11, 16 and 21-26 came from the ÖLEG , those with the numbers 83.31-33 from the BLB , the 83.36-37 from the KTB , the 83.51 finally came from the Niederösterreichische Südwestbahnen , with the locomotives except for the 83.51 were identical to each other.

These locomotives came to kkStB in 1894 from the Austrian Local Railway Company ( ÖLEG ) . At the ÖLEG they had the series designation B and the numbers 101-104 and 109-114. Three of the machines (101-103) were supplied by Krauss in Munich , the 104 by the Floridsdorf locomotive factory and the rest by Krauss in Linz between 1877 and 1881 . After the First World War , three machines came to ČSD , which they classified as the 200.0 series and which they  retired by 1939 .

KkStB 83.31–33 ( BLB )

These three locomotives came to the kkStB in 1889 from the Bukowinaer Lokalbahnen . There they had the names "ALESANI I", "WASSILKO I" and "ZIFFER I". They were delivered by Krauss in Linz in 1884 and were withdrawn by 1902 .

KkStB 83.36–37 ( KTB )

These two machines originally came from the Kremstalbahn to the kkStB . At the Kremstalbahn they were called "KLAUS" and "WINDISCHGARSTEN". Both locomotives were in 1887 by Krauss in Linz delivered, came after the First World War to the CSD , however, have already retired before they were included in the series scheme of the CSD.

The small tank locomotive was delivered by Krauss in Munich in 1879 . On the lines of the NÖSWB, it pulled a double-decker car, also supplied by this company, and thus formed a so-called secondary train .

At the NÖSWB it was designated with 1C , after the adoption in the kkStB scheme with kkStB 85.01 , and finally from 1892 with kkStB 83.51 .

The locomotive was retired in 1897 .

KkStB 83.61-62 ( ÖLEG )

The two locomotives belonged to the ÖLEG series A and came to the kkStB on January 1, 1894 as a result of the nationalization of their operational routes. There they were retired in the same year without the new numbers being written to them.
