The steam locomotives of the series ÖLEG A were tank locomotives of the Austrian Local Railway Company (ÖLEG). The two-cylinder - wet steam -Lokomotiven with the axle formula  B were the smallest standard gauge locomotives owned by the Imperial State Railways were (kkStB).

history

Originally the six locomotives from Krauss in Munich were built for the Elbogen Local Railway , for the Olmütz – Cellechowitz Local Railway and for other lines of the Austrian Local Railway Company (ÖLEG). At the ÖLEG, they were numbered A 1–6.

The two machines that were procured for the Elbogen local railway are likely to have been moved to one of the Caslau – Zawratetz or Königshan – Schatzlar routes fairly soon . On July 1, 1889, the Austrian Northwest Railway / South-North German Connection Railway (ÖNWB / SNDVB) took over operations on these two lines. At this point in time, the two small tank locomotives stationed there seem to have already been shut down because they no longer had their own ÖNWB number.

On January 1, 1894, the two lines came into the possession of the kkStB through nationalization, but the ÖNWB / SNDVB continued to operate on these island lines. At that time, the two machines of the former ÖLEG A were apparently still there. They received inventory numbers 8361 and 8362 from the kkStB , but they were never written to on the vehicles. In 1894 they should have been finally retired.

The remaining four machines had already been taken out of service by the ÖLEG before the routes on which they were used were nationalized.
