The BBC's Amber-Class is initially 17 heavy-lift comprehensive ship class . 14 of which belong to the ships in Emden -based shipping company Bockstiegel to make to the long term to Briese Group owned company BBC Chartering chartered. The lead ship BBC Amber was completed in 2011, the other ships were delivered between 2010 and 2012. The Jüngerhans shipping company has ordered the remaining four ships of this type, which are managed by Intermarine . There they are referred to as F-Class .
Technical specifications
The ships have a deadweight capacity of around 14,400 t and a draft of 9.10 m. Thanks to the 8,280 kW marine diesel engine from MAN , the maximum speed of this type of ship is around 17.5 kn.
They are equipped with two 400 t cranes from NMF which, in tandem operation, have a lifting capacity of 800 t . An 80 t crane is also installed aft on the starboard side .
The last six ships of the shipping company Bockstiegel will be equipped with two 450-t cranes instead of 400-t cranes. This increases the load capacity in tandem operation to 900 tons. The Jüngerhans ships are each equipped with two 800 t NMF cranes.
The volume of the two cargo holds is around 18,200 m³ and the deck area, the hatch cover of which can be loaded with 5 t / m², is around 1900 m². The superstructures at the front provide better protection for any project cargo from impacts from the sea and offer a good view of the front from the bridge, even with high cargo. In addition, there is space for up to 985 TEU of empty containers . The ships consume around 38.5 t of HFO per day at sea .
The ships of the shipping company W. Bockstiegel are built in Jianxi, China, and are classified by Germanischer Lloyd . The Jüngerhans ships are also being built in China at a shipyard of the Sainty Marine Corporation in Yangzhou .

The years for all ships except BBC Amber are provisional. The ships sail under the flag of Antigua & Barbuda .
All ships were named after gemstones , sometimes they are also referred to as gemstone ships .
The BBC Coral wrecked order in tandem with in the yard with a lifting test on 28 February 2012. viability to be certified by 800 t SWL, ship cranes must have at least two minutes to be certified mass plus 10%, in this case 880 t , to lift. Here heeled the ship strong, were making the cranes heavily damaged.
