Babai ( Nepali बबई ) is a city ( municipality ) in western Nepal in the Bardiya district .
The city of Babai is located at the foot of the Siwaliks in the Terai 28 km north of Gulariya . The Babai River of the same name flows east of Babai to the south. The city was created in September 2015 by merging the Village Development Committees Baganaha and Neulapur . The city administration is located in the former VDC Neulapur. The main west-east road connection of Nepal, the Mahendra Rajmarg , runs through Babai. Bardiya National Park is to the northeast of Babai .
Residents
At the 2011 census, the VDCs from which the city of Babai emerged had 27,838 inhabitants (13,192 of them male) in 5,452 households.
