Field of activity
The focus of the company's activities is on engineering-driven power plant service and project business. The service covers all areas of power plant technology (servicing, maintenance, efficiency enhancement as well as service life extension and the delivery of components). The company creates service concepts for conventional and nuclear power plants , environmental and water treatment plants , opencast mines and other industrial areas such as waste incineration , chemistry, petrochemicals and steel production as well as for research centers in elementary particle physics , nuclear fusion and nuclear technology .
history
In 1970 took over German Babcock the Borsig AG . In 2001 the name was changed to Babcock Borsig , and in 2002 the group filed for bankruptcy .
The Babcock Borsig Service division was taken over by the Bilfinger Group in 2005 and has been run as an independent GmbH since May 2006 under the umbrella of the Bilfinger Power Systems holding company . After the merger with Steinmüller repair power plants Society for Energy and Environmental Technology GmbH in 2011 was from the Babcock Borsig Service , the Babcock Borsig Steinmüller GmbH .
