The stream vom Heerstrut rises in a wooded area northwest of Halbs in three spring branches . After the confluence of the source streams, it initially flows in a south-easterly direction. Just before it leaves the forest, it turns more to the west and then flows along the southern edge of the forest. On its right side it borders a meadow . He now leaves the forest behind and his further path leads through a meadow and field landscape . It is lined with trees on its banks. A short time later it finally flows into the Schafbach .
