Backe is a locality ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Jämtlands län and the historic province of Ångermanland .
Backe is about 50 kilometers east of the main town of Strömsund on the border with Västernorrland County . In the village, which has almost 600 inhabitants, there is a regional hospital and Fjällsjö Church. Backe station is on the Hoting – Forsmo railway line , but is no longer used for regular passenger traffic; the Länsveg 346 and 331 lead through Backe.
