action
Savitri is a talented singer and lives in a small house with her brother Anoop and mother. In order to earn some money, she gives private lessons with the respective students. One day young Manohar noticed her and fell in love at first sight. Since then he has been courting her and even pretending to be an egg seller just to find her near. But not only Manohar shows interest. The brother of a schoolgirl, Prema, also falls in love with the pretty singing teacher. His name is Sagar.
One day the father of her best friend Champa reads the stars in her horoscopes. First those from Anoop, who expect good business. Then the mother, who suddenly falls ill after an incident. And now comes Savitri's prophecy. But when looking at her horoscope, Champa's father is silent. Afterwards, at Champa's request, he reveals that Savitri's marriage will end after 40 days. However, a second marriage awaits them.
Meanwhile, Savitri has fallen in love with the charismatic Manohar. Instead, Sagar's family asked for her hand. This infuriates Savitri, but when her mother falls ill, as was prophesied, she agrees to marry. The day before the wedding, Champa passes on her knowledge of star interpretation. The news worries Savitri and it clears up Sagar as well. But this shows up unimpressed and still takes her as his wife.
After the wedding, she writes a letter to Manohar, who has been hospitalized the whole time due to an injury, reporting on the 40-day marriage. Manohar wants to poison Sagar at Anoop and Champa's wedding party. Until Savitri prevents him from believing that her current husband will die in 40 days.
Manohar makes further aggressive attempts, but is always held back by Savitri. Here she feels the first dislike for Manohar, who has changed. On the 40th day, Savitri confesses her former love for Manohar and asks his forgiveness. He forgives her and they now discover their marital happiness. Manohar leaves them alone. Then the audience learns that Manohar had deliberately shown a negative side so that Savitri fell in love with Sagar. Relationships change ( Badaltey Rishtey ).
