Bahar Doğan (born September 2, 1974 in İzmit ) is a Turkish marathon runner .

Life

In 2006 Bahar Doğan finished eleventh in the Istanbul Marathon . The following year she was sixth at the Düsseldorf Marathon and finished 40th at the World Athletics Championships in Osaka . As sixth overall she was national champion in Istanbul in the fall and then nominated for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where she came in 50th place. Then she was tenth in Istanbul.

In 2009 she won the half marathon competition of the Antalya Marathon as well as the Trabzon Half Marathon and was fifth overall in Istanbul as the Turkish champion again.

In 2010 she defended her national championship title with a sixth place overall in Istanbul.

Doğan was part of the Turkish team for the 2012 Summer Olympics . In London she covered the Olympic marathon distance in 2: 36.35 hours. This put them in 63rd place in the final ranking.

Bahar Doğan is 1.56 meters tall, according to other sources 1.58 meters tall, and weighs 48 kg. She is trained by Ertan Hatipoğlu and starts for the Üsküdar Belediyesi club . In close proximity to the Olympic Games in 2012, the Istanbul Uskudar Municipality Sports Club was named as the home club for the sports student at the Kocaeli Üniversitesi in İzmit .

doping

In 2015, Doğan was banned from doping for two and a half years. The suspension lasted from March 31, 2015 to September 30, 2017.
