The Bad Zurzach Station is the station of the Swiss town of Bad Zurzach in Canton Aargau . It was opened together with the Winterthur – Koblenz railway on August 1, 1876 by the Swiss Northeastern Railway (NOB). The station is served by the S27 of the S-Bahn Aargau and S36 of the S-Bahn Zurich .

history

"The most direct route from Paris to Constantinople is via Zurzach – Eglisau – Bülach – Winterthur ..."

This euphoric statement could be heard in 1870 in the run-up to the license application in Winterthur. The railway line between Winterthur and Koblenz , planned by the Swiss Northeast Railway (NOB) , was opened in 1876 after only four years of construction. Together with the opening of the railway line, the industrial age arrived in Zurzach.

In 1902, the newly founded Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) took over the Winterthur – Bülach – Koblenz railway from the NOB, which was incorporated into the SBB.

Bad Zurzach train station was modernized by summer 2013. One of the three tracks up until then was removed, an underpass was built so that the newly built platform on track 2 can be reached without stepping on the tracks. In addition, the "Bruchsal G" interlocking from 1904, which had been in operation until then, was replaced after 109 years of operation. It was the SBB's longest-serving signal box. It was replaced by a Domino 67 relay interlocking, which has since been remotely controlled from the East Operations Center in Kloten. The old signal box was handed over to the Bad Zurzach community as a museum piece.
