The Dillbrecht train station is a stop at the 121.7 kilometer of the Dill route from Siegen to Giessen. It lies on the district boundary between Dillbrecht and Fellerdilln , both districts of the municipality of Haiger in the Lahn-Dill district in central Hesse . The route and the former station building are under monument protection.

location

The train station is located roughly on the district boundary between Dillbrecht and Fellerdilln and can be reached from both districts via a short footpath and an access road.

history

In 1910 the Weidenau - Dillenburg railway line was built and the town received its own train station. The approximately 2.6 kilometer long Rudersdorf Tunnel was built near Dillbrecht . The rail tunnel was completed and put into operation together with the line on December 1, 1915. For the three parishes of Fellerdilln, Dillbrecht and Offdilln , a train station was built in the area of Fellerdilln on the border with Dillbrecht, which was given the name of the parish of Dillbrecht at the instigation of the responsible pastor Johannes Seitz .

Due to the engineering work and the engineering structures along the northern Dill route, the entire route between the Haiger train station and the Hessian / North Rhine-Westphalian border in the Rudersdorf Tunnel is a cultural monument under the Hessian Monument Protection Act .

Dillbrecht station was closed for operational purposes in October 2004 after all switches were removed and the third station track was closed, and it was downgraded to an unoccupied stop.

Between December 2014 and December 2017, operations were suspended on Sundays, so that the Dillbrecht station was only served Monday to Saturday during this time. The reason for this was the necessary savings on the part of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV). With the timetable change in December 2017, the RB 95 trips were ordered again on Sundays.

Reception building

Former reception building

The former reception building of the Dillbrecht train station is a neo-baroque type building in the local style , as is the case in the neighboring Rodenbach (Dillkr) train station . It was built in 1915 to the west of the line, presumably according to a design by Alois Holtmeyer . The building has a gable risalit made of exposed framework. To the south of the rest of the former's goods shed of timber-framed grown. It is a cultural monument due to the Hessian Monument Protection Act .

The station has the address Bahnhof Dillbrecht 1 .

business

Only the Sieg-Dill-Bahn (RB 95) between Siegen and Dillenburg stops at Dillbrecht station. The Main-Sieg-Express (RE 99), which also runs between Siegen and Dillenburg, passes through the stop. Local rail passenger transport is carried out by the Hessische Landesbahn , which uses diesel multiple units of the DB series 640 and 648 (Alstom Coradia LINT 27 and LINT 41) for the Sieg-Dill-Bahn .

Dillbrecht is the last stop in the Hessian section of the Dill route; therefore the tariff of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) applies here . The Westphalian tariff is the transitional tariff for cross-network journeys in the direction of Siegen .
