Railway stations in Bavaria |
The Dollnstein Bahnhof is a breakpoint in the Upper Bavarian market Dollnstein ( Eichstätt ). It is located on the Ingolstadt – Treuchtlingen railway line and was a separation station until the Dollnstein – Rennertshofen railway line was closed in 1993 . The station belongs to station category 6 of DB Station & Service .
history
The station was built in 1869/70 on the Munich - Ingolstadt - Treuchtlingen - Nuremberg route and went into operation on April 12, 1870 with the opening of the Ingolstadt - Treuchtlingen section.
In May 1913, construction work began on the branch line to Rennertshofen . In order to widen the area of the station, extensive blasting had to be carried out. With the blasted out rock, an approximately five meter high embankment was heaped up at the exit. Passenger traffic on the route to Rennertshofen was stopped in October 1960. A museum railway ran from Dollnstein between 1985 and 1993 , after which the line was shut down and dismantled.
traffic
Today the station is the stop of the regional trains that run on the Ingolstadt – Treuchtlingen line.
