Nørreport station
Nørreport is a tunnel station in the center of the Danish capital Copenhagen . It is the busiest train station in all of Denmark with around 300,000 travelers daily. The entire station complex is located underground with six tracks on three platforms, one of which each platform is used for regional and long-distance traffic , the S-Bahn and the metro . The three lines are electrified with different systems, the S-Bahn tracks with catenary and 1.65 kV direct voltage, the long-distance tracks with 25 kV alternating voltage and 50 Hz and the tracks of the subway with direct voltage via side rails painted from below.
history
The station was opened on July 1, 1918 as part of the tunnel connection between Københavns Hovedbanegård and Østerport . Since May 15, 1934, S-Bahn trains (Danish: S-tog) have been running here on the first electrified line in Denmark. On October 19, 2002, the subway section of the metro was opened. The four-track old station structure, which runs in a south-west-north-east direction, was connected to the new underground platform, which runs roughly at right angles to it, via a pedestrian tunnel. The underground station was the terminus of the M1 and M2 lines until May 29, 2003, when the new section to Frederiksberg was opened.

The underground subway station Nørreport is located below the actual Nørreport station . The station is served by lines M1 and M2 of the Copenhagen metro system .
The station was opened on October 19, 2002 for the newly built Vestamager – Nørreport underground line. There are transfer options to various bus lines, the S-tog, long-distance and regional transport.
