The Niederselters station is a stop on the Main-Lahn-Bahn at route kilometers 54.1 to 54.3 in Niederselters .
history
In 1875 the first section of the Main-Lahn Railway to Niederselters was opened to traffic and went into operation in 1877. In 1913 a second track went into operation. In 1986 the line was electrified . The station was conveniently located next to the mineral spring, which subsequently became an important freight customer.
location
The breakpoint is in the south of the district of Niederselters in the municipality of Selters . The stop is between Brunnenstrasse (K513) in the north and “Am Urseltersbrunnen” in the south. The Selterswasser Museum is also located south of the train station .
construction
The reception building is a listed building. It corresponds to the type that was also built on the Lahn Valley Railway. The porches and the platform roof were added around 1910. the goods shed to the east was demolished.
The stop has two platforms :
- Track 1: House platform (length: 222 m; height: 76 cm): RB 22 / RB 21 to Limburg (Lahn)
- Track 2: side platform (length: 219 m; height: 76 cm): RB 22 to Frankfurt (Main) ; RB 21 to Niedernhausen / Wiesbaden
The platforms are connected by an underpass. The station has a P + R facility and a covered B + R facility . There are small waiting houses on the platforms . The platforms are illuminated over their entire length .
traffic
The stop is served every hour on weekdays by the DB line RB 22 (Frankfurt - Niedernhausen - Limburg). In rush hour traffic to / from Frankfurt the RB 22 runs every half hour, the RB21 (Wiesbaden - Niedernhausen (- Limburg)) of the HLB is then tied through with a stop to Limburg.
At the weekend, the two-hour services of the RB 22 and RB 21 complement each other at hourly intervals. In Niedernhausen there is a connection to Wiesbaden or Frankfurt.
