Railway stations in Saxony-Anhalt |
Thale Hauptbahnhof is on the Magdeburg – Thale railway line . The station is the largest and most important station in the city of Thale .
history
The station was opened in 1862. At first it was called Thale; in 1907 it was given the addition of the Hauptbahnhof to distinguish it from the Thale Bodethal station (located on the Blankenburg – Quedlinburg railway line ) .
Until 2003 there was a turntable at the end of the station . Thale Hbf has three platforms. Currently, only platforms 1 and 2 are used in regular operation. In the past, when the locomotives had to be relocated, two level crossings in the immediate vicinity of the train station had to be secured. Nowadays, however, only diesel railcars operate .
