The Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH ( HVB ) is designed for public transport in the district of Harz responsible.

history

Since the 1960s, VEB Kraftverkehr and Kraftverkehrsgesellschaft Wernigerode, or later Wernigeröder Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH, have carried out public transport in the Wernigerode district .

According to the extract from the company register, Wernigeröder Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH (HVB) had 30 liner concessions for the 2007 financial year, 18 of which were in overland and six in urban traffic, as well as six lines in accordance with Section 43 PBefG . The balance sheet total was EUR 8.429 million, with equity capital being 49.8 percent. With 3,664,782 car kilometers, 4.150 million passengers were carried. Sales revenue was estimated at 6.047 million euros. The share capital for the district of Harz amounts to 40,700 euros, for the city of Wernigerode 11,550 euros and for the city of Blankenburg 2,750 euros; the share capital itself is 55,000 euros.

As a result of the district reform on July 1, 2007, a restructuring of local public transport became necessary. As a result, the Wernigeröder Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH was renamed the Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH (HVB) on January 1, 2009 and the previously independent operations of the Q-Bus Nahverkehrsgesellschaft mbH Ballenstedt (independent from October 22, 1991 to December 31, 2008) and Halberstädter bus operations GmbH (independent from March 31, 1992 to December 31, 2008) integrated as subsidiaries.

In July 2011, Halberstädter Bus-Betriebe GmbH merged with Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH.

The Q-Bus Nahverkehrsgesellschaft mbH Ballenstedt merged with the Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH (HVB) in July 2013.

As part of the implementation of the Harz district's new local transport plan in 2016, it was planned to implement new lines and travel times by December 10, 2017. The school transport was integrated into the regular service. Since this required a considerable lead time, the schedule change date was postponed twice. On April 15, 2018, the new timetable was implemented with new lines and travel times. Due to massive difficulties, this timetable was changed back to the old system of independent school transport after two corrections.
