history

The Q-Bus Nahverkehrsgesellschaft mbH Ballenstedt emerged from the VEB Kraftverkehr Ballenstedt , was founded on October 22, 1991 and started operating Ikarus buses on July 1, 1992. From January 1st, 2009 to December 31st, 2012 it was an independent subsidiary of the Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe .

The area of ​​responsibility referred to the area of ​​the old district of Quedlinburg as well as to connecting trips beyond. On August 1, 2012, the Q-Bus local transport company took over the regular services in the area of ​​the city ​​of Falkenstein / Harz from the Salzland roundabout company .

On December 3, 2012, the administrative headquarters were moved from Ballenstedt to Quedlinburg, but the company headquarters remained in Ballenstedt.

The Q-Bus local transport company merged with the Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe in July 2013 .

The last Ikarus buses officially ran for the company until 2004. Since December 2003, buses powered by natural gas from MAN have also been in use. In order to make refueling possible, the first natural gas filling station in the then Quedlinburg district was put into operation at the same time.

In December 2011, three new MAN buses manufactured in Poznan (Poland) in a green Q-Bus look were handed over to the company, at the same time as five other buses that went to HVB. The unit price was 220,000 euros each.

Ballenstedt

With the timetable change on August 17, 2003, the urban area of ​​Ballenstedt was connected to the district of Opperode by a city bus. It ran every two hours on weekdays, and lasted a total of five journeys on weekends and public holidays. A total of 17 stops were approached. For this purpose, the journeys of bus line 6 coming from Quedlinburg have been extended.

Night lines

From 1993 to February 2, 2008, a special public transport service was available in the old district of Quedlinburg. 4 night bus routes started together at the Quedlinburg train station at around 10:30 p.m. to finally travel to major parts of the old district. Minibuses with 8 passenger seats were used. Due to high cost pressure and low passenger numbers, traffic was suspended for the year in question.

Q-Bus operated a depot in the following cities :

With the timetable change in August 2011, the Friedrichsbrunn location was given up and distributed to the Ballenstedt and Harzgerode locations. Only the Q-Bus central workshop remained in Friedrichsbrunn. The depot-related operations management was brought together in Quedlinburg in December 2012.
