The Kreisverkehrsgesellschaft Salzland mbH ( KVG ) is a regional bus company based in Bernburg . Together with its subsidiary Personennahverkehr Salzland GmbH, it operates the local public transport in Saxony-Anhalt in the Salzland district .

Service area

The field of activity of KVG Salzland is the former districts of Bernburg , Schönebeck and Aschersleben-Staßfurt and today's Salzland district with an area of approx. 1,426 km².

history

The roundabout company was founded on August 29, 1991 under the name Kreisverkehrsgesellschaft Bernburg mbH. The district reform in 2007 made it necessary to restructure local passenger transport. As a result, the Kreisverkehrsgesellschaft Bernburg mbH has been operating as the Kreisverkehrsgesellschaft Salzland mbH since June 30, 2011. At the same time, the local public transport company Staßfurt GmbH was taken over as a subsidiary.

On September 14, 2011, KVG Salzland took over the Aschersleben depot from Verkehrsgesellschaft Südharz mbH . All transport services such as lines, vehicles and personnel provided there were taken over.

As of August 1, 2012, the line numbers were adjusted to the number range of the Magdeburg Regional Transport Association. The Aschersleben- Ballenstedt and Aschersleben- Pansfelde lines , which mainly operated in the Harz district , were simultaneously transferred from the KVG Salzland to the Q-Bus Nahverkehrsgesellschaft mbH Ballenstedt .
