Location of Strenznaundorf in Könnern

Strenznaundorf is a district of the town of Könnern in the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

history

In the Middle Ages, the village of Schlewe still existed to the south-east , but then fell to Wüst.

The places Strenz and Naundorf belonged to the hall circle of the Archbishopric of Magdeburg . They were under the jurisdiction of a line of the von Krosigk family , which had its seat in Gnölbzig . When an inheritance was divided in 1664, Heinrich von Krosigk received the town and the old Alsleben castle as well as the surrounding villages of Piesdorf , Strenz, Naundorf, Nelbe and Gnölbzig. When the Archbishopric of Magdeburg fell to Brandenburg-Prussia in 1680, the Electors of Brandenburg (from 1701 kings in / of Prussia) became the new sovereigns of the area now known as the “ Duchy of Magdeburg ”. In August 1755, the chamber president Christoph Heinrich von Wedel from Braunsforth in Pomerania bought the manors Gnölbzig and Piesdorf, as well as the towns of Gnölbzig, Nelbe, Strenz and Naundorf. At that time, Strenz and Naundorf belonged to the Piesdorf manor.

With the Peace of Tilsit in 1807 Strenz and Naundorf were incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia and assigned to the Halle district in the Saale department. Both places belonged to the canton of Alsleben . After Napoleon's defeat and the end of the Kingdom of Westphalia, Napoleon's allied opponents liberated the Saalkreis in early October 1813. During the political reorganization after the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Strenz and Naundorf were attached to the Merseburg administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony in 1816 and assigned to the Mansfeld lake district . In the 19th century the two places merged to form Strenznaundorf.

With the first district reform in the GDR, Strenznaundorf was incorporated into the Bernburg district in 1950 . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the place became part of the Bernburg district in the Halle district , which became the Bernburg district in 1990 and was added to the Salzlandkreis in 2007. The community Strenznaundorf belonged to the administrative community Alsleben and was located in the district of Bernburg. Strenznaundorf lost its political independence when it was incorporated into Könnern on January 1, 2005.
