Beesedau, located between the Principality of Anhalt and the Saalkreis of the Archbishopric of Magdeburg (from 1680 as Duchy of Magdeburg under Prussian sovereignty), belonged as an exclave to the County of Barby . After the death of the last Count of Barby in 1659, Beesedau came to the Albertinian secondary school principality under Duke August von Sachsen-Weißenfels when the county was divided with the Saxon part . This entrusted the von Krosigk brothers from the Sanderslebischen line in 1664 with the higher and lower courts over Beesedau.

In 1680, the County of Barby, which only consisted of the Barby office, fell with the Beesedau exclave to the Sachsen-Weißenfels-Barby sideline under August's son Heinrich. With Heinrich's son Georg Albert, the Barby line died out in 1739 and the county fell back to the main line of Saxony-Weißenfels , until its line also died out in 1746. After this line also died out with Johann Adolf II in 1746, Beesedau came to the Electorate of Saxony as part of the County of Barby , which it remained until 1807. The Saxon office of Barby was affiliated with the Kurkreis . In 1726 the Beesedauer Church was built. Ferdinand Anton von Krosigk (* 1743, † 1805) bought Beesedau from his cousin Karl Eschwin von Krosigk, on Beesedau, in addition to his inherited property. After the loss of the Sandersleben estate, this line of the von Krosigk family was called the Beesedauer or Reformed line.

After Napoléon's victory over Prussia , the West Elbe regions of Prussia were integrated into the Kingdom of Westphalia under Napoléon's brother Jérôme . The Kingdom of Saxony , allied with Napoléon, left after the Tilsit Peace in 1807 a. a. the county of Barby Napoléon's brother Jérôme. This incorporated the areas into his Kingdom of Westphalia. While the main part of the County of Barby came to the department of the Elbe , the exclave Beesedau was assigned to the department of the Saale and incorporated into the canton of Cönnern in the district of Halle . In 1813 the Prussian conquest of the Kingdom of Westphalia took place. After the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Beesedau was integrated into the Prussian province of Saxony and added to the Saalkreis in the administrative district of Merseburg .
