Location of Piesdorf in Saxony-Anhalt

Piesdorf is a district of the village of Belleben in the town of Könnern in the Salzland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Geographical location

Piesdorf is about ten kilometers west of Könnern, west of the lower Saale . The place is on the border to the Mansfelder Land .

history

Piesdorf originally belonged to the immediate imperial "Grafschaft Alsleben ", which came to the Archbishopric of Magdeburg after the death of the last Count of Alsleben in 1128 . It was pledged to Karl von Krosigk in 1438 by the Archbishop of Magdeburg, Günther II von Schwarzburg . In 1479, the von Krosigk family was enfeoffed with the county of Alsleben by the Archbishop of Magdeburg, Ernst von Magdeburg. Piesdorf belonged as Vorwerk to the castle Alsleben, which Piesdorf 1479 also fell under the suzerainty of Krosigk. When the Alsleben property was inherited by the brothers Heinrich and Lorentz Adolph von Krosigk in 1664, Heinrich von Krosigk received the Piesdorf estate and jurisdiction over the localities of Nelbe , Strenz, Naundorf and Gnölbzig . When the Archbishopric of Magdeburg fell to Brandenburg-Prussia in 1680, the Electors of Brandenburg (from 1701 kings in / of Prussia) became the new sovereigns of the area now known as the “ Duchy of Magdeburg ”. Piesdorf belonged to the Saalkreis .

In August 1755, the chamber president Christoph Heinrich von Wedel from Braunsforth in Pomerania bought the Piesdorf manor with patrimonial jurisdiction over the towns of Gnölbzig, Nelbe, Strenz and Naundorf. The Vorwerk Gnölbzig mentioned in 1705/12 appears in the 18th century as a manor, but was co-administered from Piesdorf.

With the Peace of Tilsit in 1807, Piesdorf was incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia and assigned to the Halle district in the Saale department. The place belonged like the rest of the area of the manor to the canton Alsleben . After Napoleon's defeat and the end of the Kingdom of Westphalia, Napoleon's allied opponents liberated the Saalkreis in early October 1813. During the political reorganization after the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Piesdorf was attached to the Merseburg administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony in 1816 and assigned to the Mansfeld Lake District .

Wilhelm von Wedel-Piesdorf built the Piesdorf manor house in the neo-renaissance style in 1868 . It remained in the possession of the von Wedel (Wedell) family until it was expropriated as part of the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone in 1945 . Today Gut Piesdorf is an agricultural business owned by the von Daniels-Spangenberg family, who have the certificate of sustainable agriculture.

With the first district reform in the GDR in 1950, Piesdorf was incorporated into the Bernburg district. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the place became part of the Bernburg district in the Halle district , which became the Bernburg district in 1990 and was added to the Salzlandkreis in 2007. On July 14, 1961, Piesdorf became a district of Belleben . By incorporating Belleben after Könnern, Piesdorf has been part of the village of Belleben of the town of Könnern since January 1, 2005.
