history

In 1178 the place Lebendorf (formerly also: Lependorf), which is much older, was first mentioned in a deed of the diocese of Merseburg . The village was on the border with the Principality of Anhalt . In 1522 Lorenz von Krosigk , lord of the county of Alsleben , acquired the place Beesen and united the manor and manor there. a. with the places Lependorf (Lebendorf), Bebitz and Trewitz (Trebitz). The three towns remained with the Beesen von Krosigk estate until the estate was divided in 1671, after which they belonged to Neu-Beesen. The sovereignty over the three places held the Archbishopric of Magdeburg, whose Saalkreis they belonged. When the Archbishopric of Magdeburg fell to Brandenburg-Prussia in 1680, the Electors of Brandenburg (from 1701 kings in / of Prussia) became the new sovereigns of the area now known as the Duchy of Magdeburg . The Beesen line of the Lords of Krosigk had to sell Neu-Beesen in 1720 and Alt-Beesen with all their property to the King of Prussia in 1737. The royal Prussian office of Beesen , to which Lependorf, Bebitz and Trebitz have belonged since then, arose from the Krosigk property in Beesen .

With the Treaty of Tilsit , Lependorf, Bebitz and Trebitz were incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia in 1807 and assigned to the Halle district in the Saale department. They belonged to the canton of Cönnern . After Napoleon's defeat and the end of the Kingdom of Westphalia, Napoleon's allied opponents liberated the Saalkreis in early October 1813. During the political reorganization after the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Lebendorf, Bebitz and Trebitz were attached to the Merseburg administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony in 1816 and assigned to the Saalkreis.

On July 1, 1950, Bebitz and Trebitz were incorporated near Könnern to Lebendorf and moved with this to the district of Bernburg . Lebendorf, in turn, was incorporated into Könnern on January 1, 2003 and has since formed the village of Lebendorf with the three districts of Lebendorf, Bebitz and Trebitz.

Bebitz has a stop (formerly: train station) on the Könnern – Baalberge line . From 1905 to 1966 (passenger traffic) and 1994 (freight traffic), a small train also connected Bebitz with Alsleben (Saale) .
