history

Wiendorf was first mentioned in a document in 1209 as Winitrop . Historically, Wiendorf, Ilbersdorf and Pfitzdorf belong to Anhalt . From 1863 the places were in the district of Köthen in the Principality of Anhalt , which in 1918 became the Free State of Anhalt . In 1932, the three towns became part of the Dessau-Köthen district , which was renamed the Köthen district in 1950. At the same time, on July 1, 1950, Ilbersdorf and Pfitzdorf were incorporated into Wiendorf. Through the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, Wiendorf and its districts were assigned to the Bernburg district in the Halle district, which became the Bernburg district in 1990 and was incorporated into the Salzlandkreis in 2007.

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent municipality of Wiendorf was incorporated into the town of Könnern together with the municipalities of Cörmigk , Edlau and Gerlebogk .
