Unseburg is part of the municipality of Bördeaue and is located in the north of the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The place lies on both sides of the Bode , about 30 kilometers northeast of the Harz , and about 25 kilometers south of Magdeburg .

history

The Mesolithic grave near Unseburg was found during excavations that were carried out on the vineyard between 1984 and 1999. The place was first mentioned on June 7, 939 in the record book of the Archbishopric of Magdeburg in connection with the Unseburg Castle .

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities Unseburg and Tarthun merged to form the new community Bördeaue.

The coat of arms was heraldically correct designed by the Magdeburg heraldist Jörg Mantzsch after an unapproved submission of the Heraldic Society "Black Lion" in Leipzig and included in the approval process.

Attractions

One of the places of interest is the Evangelical Church of St. Stephan . The tower of the church dates from the 12th century, the nave was built in 1839.

On an open area at the intersection of Ernst-Thälmann- Strasse / August-Bebel- Strasse / Bäckergasse is a memorial stone for the Johanne-Henriette lignite mine , which was in operation from 1849 to 1963.

societies

  • The sport fishing club "Am Bodestrand" 1922 Unseburg eV , based in Unseburg, is affiliated to the state association of the VDSF Saxony-Anhalt. The association consists of around 100 members from the surrounding area and even from the Harz region. The club's waters are the Kamplake , which is around 13 hectares in size , the Westerwiese ( 8 hectares) , the Holl'sche Bruch (around 2.5 hectares) and the Bode section from the Wolmirsleben Stappenbrücke to the Rothenförde weir .
  • The Heimatstube Unseburg eV association is active in local lore with its location on Schulstrasse.

Religions

The St. Stephen's Church is part of the parish area leeches in the parish of leeches of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The Catholic Church was profaned and sold in 2012. It was built towards the beginning of the 20th century.

traffic

Unseburg was on the almost 18 km long Etgersleben – Förderstedt railway line . This is shut down.
