Dröbel is a district of the city of Bernburg (Saale) in the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The formerly independent village is not far from the confluence of the Fuhne into the Saale .

history

As early as 965, the place was first mentioned as Drogobuli in a certificate from Emperor Otto I. At that time the emperor gave the village to his faithful Count Thietmar . The place Drogobulesdorp mentioned in a deed of donation from the year 951 of Otto the Great to Margrave Gero is probably the place Dröbel.

Since the first half of the 18th century, the Dröbel estate has belonged to the Pantl and von Bandel families . Around 1875, the Prussian councilor Julius von Bandel (1847–1899), who was also the tenant of the Calenberg domain near Hanover, founded a Fideikommiss for Dröbel . Gut Dröbel was owned by the von Bandel family until they were expropriated without compensation in 1945.
