The Strenzfeld district is located in the northern part of the city of Bernburg (Saale) on the L 50 and A 14 in the direction of Magdeburg .

The 1500-inhabitant district has a rural character. Every year there is a harvest festival, which offers historical agricultural machinery and sightseeing flights.

The first major construction work in the area of ​​today's Strenzfeld took place during the National Socialist dictatorship . In the "Bernburg plant" of Junkers Flugzeug- und Motorenwerke built north of Strenzfeld, Junkers Ju 88 combat aircraft were finally assembled and taken over by the Air Force at the associated works airfield . The former Junkers factory in Bernburg was at: 51 ° 50 ′ 16 ″  N , 11 ° 41 ′ 57 ″  E

During the GDR times, Strenzfeld developed into a district when the University of Agriculture and Food Industry and a branch of the Hadmersleben Institute for Grain Research were established. Many employees settled here, so that a separate district developed. Today one of the three locations of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is located here.

The State Institute for Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture of the State of Saxony-Anhalt has its headquarters in the central square. The State Institute for Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture (LLFG), which emerged from the State Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture on January 1, 2006 and has its headquarters in Bernburg- Strenzfeld is the competence center and technical authority for the Ministry for the Environment, Agriculture and Energy , for authorities, agricultural enterprises and associations in Saxony-Anhalt. The overriding goal is to maintain and develop competitive and at the same time environmentally friendly, sustainable agriculture and forestry, including horticulture.

With the acquisition of the state's own arable land and buildings in 2010, the German Agricultural Society committed itself to founding an international crop production center. In 2012, the DLG Field Days took place for the first time at the International DLG Crop Production Center (IPZ) near the Strenzfeld district.
