Wohlsdorf is a district of the city of Bernburg (Saale) in the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Wohlsdorf is about 10 km southeast of the district town of Bernburg (Saale). The Große Wiendorfer Teich is the largest inland body of water in the area of the former Bernburg district. The district of Crüchern belonged to the former municipality.
Culture
In the district of Crüchern there has been a shawm chapel since 1963, which belongs to the Wohlsdorf / Crüchern volunteer fire department.
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 986.
From January 1, 2005, the community of Wohlsdorf belonged to the administrative community of Nienburg (Saale) . On January 1, 2010, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the city of Bernburg (Saale) together with the municipalities of Baalberge , Biendorf , Gröna , Peißen , Poley and Preußlitz .
Attractions
The originally Romanesque meditation church in Wohlsdorf , rebuilt in the 16th century, is a meditation facility on the Saxony-Anhalt Luther Trail, which opened in 2008 . The Felicitas Klepp Foundation has started to support the church, which has already been closed, to lead a new beginning of Christian life and to support the pilgrims and the village community.
Memorials
Graves in the local cemetery commemorate eight Soviet prisoners of war who fell victim to forced labor during the Second World War .

Federal road 6 (Bernburg (Saale) - Köthen (Anhalt) ) runs about two kilometers north of Wohlsdorf . The next junction on the federal motorway 14 ( Halle (Saale) - Magdeburg ) is about 15 kilometers west of Wohlsdorf.
