West Palm Beach is a regional and long-distance train station on the railway line from Mangonia Park to Miami Airport . It is located in West Palm Beach in Palm Beach County , Florida . The station opened in 1925.

history

The station was completed in 1925 by the architect Philips Clarke, who was responsible for designing all the stations on the Seaboard Air Line Railroad in Florida. West Palm Beach was built in the style of the Spanish Baroque . The station was served by the luxury passenger train Orange Blossom Special until 1953 . The Silver Meteor , which was taken over by Amtrak in 1971 , has served the station since 1939. In addition to the Silver Meteor , the Silver Star also stops in West Palm Beach today . From 1989 to 1998, the station was also the northern end of the Tri-Rail regional service from Miami . The connection was then extended to Mangonia Park .

On June 19, 1973, the station was added to the National Register of Historic Places .
