Baira Sergejewna Kowanowa ( Russian Баира Сергеевна Кованова , spelling at the World Chess Federation FIDE : Kovanova; born May 12, 1987 in Elista ) is a Russian chess player .

Life

Like the Kyrgyz-Russian world-class player Ernesto Inarkiev, she comes from the children's and youth chess school in the Kalmyk capital Elista, which was opened in 1995 by decree of the Kalmyk president and at the same time president of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumschinow .

successes

At the U18 World Cup for women in July 2005 in Belfort , she was sixth. At the European Youth Championships U18 women in September 2005 in Herceg Novi , she took third place. In April 2006 she won the Russian U18 youth championship in Dagomys . She played club chess for the women's team of economist Saratov , with whom she took part in the European Women's Club Cups in 2006, 2007 and 2008, receiving an individual gold medal in Kemer in 2007 for her result of 4.5 out of 5 on the fourth board, SpbChFed Saint Petersburg and Ugra , with which she won the Russian Women's Team Championship in 2013 and 2014 and participated in the European Women's Club in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. She also plays team chess in the Turkish first division. At the Chess Olympiad 2010 in Khanty-Mansiysk she played for the 3rd Russian women's team and had a positive result with 7.5 points from 10 games on the top board.

In April 2006 she received the title of International Women's Champion (WIM). She had met the standards for this in 2004 and 2005 at tournaments in Serpuchow and at the U18 girls' world championship in 2005 in Belfort. Since September 2007 she has held the title of Grand Master of Women (WGM). For this, she received a standard in 2005 in Serpukhov and another at the 7th N. Aratovsky Memorial in Saratov . At the 7th Uluslararasi İstanbul Satranç Festivali in August 2008 in Istanbul , she achieved a standard for the title of International Master (IM).
