Baltic League 1990

The Baltic League 1993/94 was the second season of football competition for Baltic club teams. The winner was defending champion Žalgiris Vilnius from Lithuania, who prevailed in the final with 10: 9 on penalties against Skonto Riga from Latvia.

mode

Three teams from the Lithuanian A Lyga , two teams from the Latvian Virslīga and one team each from the Estonian Meistriliiga , the Russian 1st League and the Belarusian Wyschejschaja Liha took part in the Baltic League . The tournament was divided into a group phase and a knockout phase .

The eight participating clubs were drawn into two groups. In the group stage everyone was supposed to play against everyone else in the two legs, but that didn't always happen due to withdrawals.

The two winners and the runners-up in this group stage advanced to the semi-finals, which, like the final that followed, was decided in a single game.

Attendees

The two best teams in the first division from Lithuania took part. Instead of third-placed FK Panerys Vilnius , fourth-placed Sirijus Klaipėda was also considered for the competition. Furthermore, the two best teams from the first Latvian league, the runner-up in the Estonian championship (champion was FC Norma Tallinn ), the champions from Belarus and the fourth-placed team in the second Russian league played.
