Course of the Autobahn 7

The Thai Highway 7 ( Thai ทางหลวง พิเศษ หมายเลข 7 ) or the Bangkok – Chon Buri ( English Bangkok – Chon Buri Motorway ) connects Bangkok with the eastern Gulf coast , i.e. with the province of Chon Buri , the deep-sea port of Laem Chabang , the tourist center of Pattaya and Rayong .

Routing

Most of the toll motorway has six lanes. In the vicinity of Bangkok, especially at the junction to Suvarnabhumi International Airport , it is partly eight-lane. It begins in Bangkok in the ( Khet ) Suan Luang district as an extension of Rama IX Road and the Sirat Expressway . Highway 7 crosses the Outer Bangkok Ring Road (Thanon Kanchanaphisek / Highway 9) and runs east through Saphan Sung and Lat Krabang . A few kilometers behind the Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi Airport it turns to the southeast and runs through the provinces of Samut Prakan , Chachoengsao and Chon Buri.

After around five years of construction, the last section from the intersection with Thailand Route 36 to the intersection with Thanon Sukhumvit east of Pattaya was opened to traffic in April 2010 . The highway is toll-free from Chon Buri to Pattaya.

Another extension to Map Ta Phut, Rayong is under construction as of 2019.
