Baraki Barak also spelled Barakī Barak or Baraki Bara is a city in the Baraki Barak district of the Lugar province in Afghanistan , which was formerly the capital of the Lugar province.
The place is located in mountainous terrain in the valley of the Lugar River at an altitude of 1937 m above sea level .
Streets
Baraki Barak is located on a strategic military road, because it leads from Kabul to Pakistan over two passes, the Khost-Gardez-Pass and the Peiwar-Pass . The main road from Ghazni to Kabul , a section of the Asian Highway , passes the city 20 km to the west and can be reached by a branching road.

Baraki Barak is historically the home of the Burki / Baraki / Ormuri tribes referred to as Burki outside of Afghanistan. Pashtuns and Tajiks also live in the city, which is named after the Baraki tribe. Some of the Baraki still speak the Baraki language who live in the northwest, west of the city and in the city.
