Barbara Neuwirth

Barbara Neuwirth (born November 13, 1958 in Eggenburg , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian writer .

life and work

At the age of nine, Barbara Neuwirth moved from Drosendorf in the Waldviertel to Vienna. She studied history, political science and ethnology at the University of Vienna and completed her training as a documentary graduate. From 1984–1997 she was a publisher at Wiener Frauenverlag and built up the scientific book series Frauenforschung, which she also published. Since 1997 she has been working as a freelance editor for scientific texts. She writes prose and dramas. Barbara Neuwirth lives in Vienna and in Mitter-Retzbach / Weinviertel.
