Fantastic library (Suhrkamp)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fantastic Library is a book series by Suhrkamp Verlag and contains works of fantasy , science fiction , but also horror literature .

The first volumes appeared without numbering: the first volumes of the Phaïcon almanac in Insel-Verlag (with Suhrkamp since 1963) or the Polaris almanac in Suhrkamp Verlag. It was not until the 3rd edition of Nacht und Schimmel officially appeared in 1978 as the first volume of the Fantastic Library with its characteristic purple appearance.

Franz Rottensteiner was in charge of this series between 1980 and 1998 and was the editor responsible for over 360 titles. The 26 titles in the series Library of the House of Usher , published between 1969 and 1975 by Insel Verlag by Kalju Kirde , have all been reprinted here.
