Peter Marginter

Peter Marginter (born October 26, 1934 in Vienna ; † February 10, 2008 in Bad-Fischau) was an Austrian writer , essayist and translator .

Life

Peter Marginter studied law and political science in Innsbruck and Vienna . From 1964 to 1968 he was guild secretary of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce , from 1971 to 1978 Austrian cultural attaché in Turkey and Great Britain . In 1988/89 he was head of department at the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs and then until 1995 head of the Austrian cultural institute in London .

His books are bizarre and funny and have magical, fantastic features.

Marginter was a board member of the Austrian PEN Club.
