Wilfried Baasner

Wilfried Baasner (born May 28, 1940 in Mohrungen , † March 28, 2006 in Athens ) was a German actor .

Life

Growing up in Lauenburg and Hamburg , Baasner left high school at the age of 17 and went to the acting school of the Hamburger Kammerspiele , where he received his acting training from Ida Ehre . Engagements followed a. at the Stadttheater Bremerhaven, Wiener Volkstheater , the Wiener Schauspielhaus , the Hamburger Kammerspiele, the Landesbühne Hannover , the Berlin Renaissance-Theater and the Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall .

In 1982 Baasner was awarded the Kainz Medal for his portrayal of John Merrick in Bernard Pomerance's Der Elefantenmensch at the Vienna Schauspielhaus . In 1985 he played in Isa Hesse-Rabinovitch's and Peter Schulze-Rohr's television play Hautnah , which was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize .

Wilfried Baasner became known to a wide audience as the bald-headed villain Achim Lauritzen in the successful ZDF series Das Erbe der Guldenburgs . He had his head shaved for a production of Bertolt Brecht's Threepenny Opera , in which he played the role of Mackie Messer . After that, baldness was his trademark.

Wilfried Baasner lived mostly in Greece in his last years and died in an Athens hospital.
