Barbara Rüschoff-Parzinger (born September 19, 1962 in Münster ) is a German archaeologist . Since 2008 she has been state councilor for culture at the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe (LWL)

After graduating from high school in 1982, she studied prehistory and early history , art history , classical archeology and geology / paleontology in Cologne and Münster . During this time she was involved in excavations in Namibia and Israel . In 2001 she was in Munster with a dissertation on the necropolis in Warendorf - virgin village ( Westphalia ) with graves from the Neolithic period to the Latènezeit doctorate . After directing excavations in Sassenberg , Schöppingen and Heek , she worked as a scientific consultant at the Westphalian Museum of Archeology - State Museum and Office for Monument Preservation in Münster. From 2003 to 2008 she was the founding director of the LWL Museum for Archeology in Herne .

Since February 22, 2008, she has been heading the cultural department of the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe, succeeding Karl Teppe.

Private

On June 16, 2017, Barbara Rüschoff-Thale civilly married the president of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation , the archaeologist Hermann Parzinger , and is now called Rüschoff-Parzinger.
