Barbara Schaeffer-Hegel

Barbara Schaeffer-Hegel (born November 10, 1936 in Kassel ) is a retired German social scientist whose work focuses on women and gender studies .

Life

Schaeffer-Hegel studied political science , history , philosophy and Romance studies . From 1980 to 2002 she taught at the Technical University of Berlin , as well as at several universities in Austria and the USA.

In October 1995 she founded the European Academy for Women in Politics and Business Berlin , of which she was chairman of the board until 2007, as a training center for young women executives in politics and business. In 2001 she founded Femtec , of which she was chairman of the supervisory board until 2012. Barbara Schaeffer-Hegel lives in Berlin, she is married to Ulrich Hegel and has four children and seven grandchildren.
