Helga Lukoschat

Helga Lukoschat (* 1957 in Eßlingen am Neckar ) is a German political scientist and chairwoman of the European Academy for Women in Politics and Business Berlin (EAF). She is committed to the next generation of women in leadership.

Professional background

She studied German , political science and history in Erlangen and Berlin . After graduating, she worked as a journalist , publicist and editor for the daily newspaper .

In October 1995 the Berlin professor Barbara Schaeffer-Hegel founded the European Academy for Women in Politics and Business Berlin (EAF). As a founding member of the association, Helga Lukoschat contributed to the development of the EAF in changing positions. After the resignation of the founder Barbara Schaeffer-Hegel in 2007, she took over the management.

In 2001 she took over the management of Femtec . The Femtec University Career Center for Women Berlin was founded in 2001 by the EAF and the Technical University of Berlin with the aim of promoting women in the field of science and technology .

Helga Lukoschat was involved in research projects by Barbara Schaeffer-Hegel at the Technical University of Berlin and did her doctorate with a study on women in management positions. She worked on the first German mentoring program ("Preparing Women to Lead"), which Schaeffer-Hegel imported from Washington USA with the consent of the management of the Public Leadership Education Network and which had the aim of promoting young female leaders in Germany . The mentoring program “Preparing Women to Lead” was awarded the Soroptimist International Prize in 2002.

Helga Lukoschat is chairwoman of the advisory board of Femtec.Alumnae eV and a member of the board of trustees of Total E-Quality Deutschland eV , Soroptimist International / Club Dorotheenstadt and the conference advisory board of WomenPower.
