Barco NV , listed on the stock exchange in Brussels , is a manufacturer of hardware display -products and systems. The company specializes in DLP projectors , LED screens and flat screens as well as related applications. The name Barco is an acronym for B elgian A merican R adio CO rporation.

history
The company was founded in 1934 and is headquartered in Kortrijk , Belgium . The company has locations in Europe, North America and East Asia. The United States location is in Duluth , Georgia (near Atlanta ). Barco employs 3524 people worldwide (May 2017).
In 2004 Barco acquired Folsom Imaging from Rancho Cordova, California.
In 2007 the areas of presentation and simulation were combined under the PSD (Presentation and Simulation Division). Part of this is the Corporate AV area. It offers visualization solutions for conference rooms, high-quality boardrooms, universities and colleges as well as for museums. There is also a department for the military sector.
In 2015 Barco's Defense & Aerospace Division was sold to Esterline Technologies Corporation .
