Barna Putics [ bɒrnɒ putitʃ ] (* 18th August 1984 in Pécs ) is a from Hungary originating handball player . It is used in the left and middle back space positions.

The 2.01 meter tall and 106 kilogram heavy Hungarian has been under contract with the French club Tremblay-en-France Handball since 2014 .

Career

He began playing handball at TV Großwallstadt , to which his father switched in the 1990/91 season. From 1996 he played first for the youth team of the Hungarian record champions MKB Veszprém , later also for the first men's team. With this club he won four championships and three cup wins in Hungary; in 2008 he won the European Cup Winners' Cup and in 2006 played in the semi-finals of the EHF Champions League . In August 2008 he moved to TUSEM Essen in the 1st Bundesliga, where he scored 84 goals in 13 games. In December 2008 he signed a contract with FC Barcelona , but already moved to RK Koper in August 2009 . In December 2009 he was signed by the German first division club GWD Minden. After the relegation of Minden, his contract ended. In September 2010 Putics signed a contract with VfL Gummersbach. In 2011 Putics won the European Cup Winners' Cup with Gummersbach. For the 2014/15 season he moved to the French club Tremblay-en-France Handball .

Barna Putics has been used 90 times for the Hungarian men's national handball team and scored 189 goals (as of May 8, 2014). In the summer of 2012, he took part in the Olympic Games in London and finished fourth.
