Barthold Beckmann

Barthold Beckmann (* 1549 in Hamburg ; † September 4, 1622 ibid) was a Hamburg councilor and mayor .

Life

Born in Hamburg, Beckmann was in 1599 in combing citizens , later Jurat elected at Saint Catherine and in 1614 for alderman. In 1617 he was elected mayor for the late Johann Wetken († 1616). On July 23, 1622 Beckmann fell ill on his Höltenklinken estate and was brought to Hamburg, where he died a short time later.

Beckmann donated a baptismal font to the Katharinenkirche.

family

Beckmann's parents were the senior man in the parish of Sankt Petri Lucas Beckmann († 1565) and his wife Margaretha Meyer.

He was married to Margaretha or Magdalena Vögeler, daughter of the mayor Nicolaus Vögeler (1525–1587). The children from this marriage are:

  1. Margaretha ⚭ 1595 Meino von Eitzen († 1634), senior senior in the parish of Sankt Katharinen
  2. Nicolaus (* 1577) ⚭ Anna Moller, daughter of the mayor Vincent Moller vom Hirsch (1560–1621)
  3. Lucas (1581–1625) ⚭ 1616 Agatha de Greve, daughter of Jacob de Greve (1553–1636), who married the merchant Dominicus von Uffele (1584–1656) in 1628 as her second marriage.
  4. Elisabeth (1586–1657) ⚭ 1604 Vincent Moller vom Baum (1568–1625), Council Syndicate
  5. Magdalena († 1648) ⚭ 1609 Eberhard Twestreng († 1622), councilor
  6. Anna († 1647) ⚭ 1610 Johann Rodenborg (1574–1640), councilor and bailiff in Ritzebüttel
