Bartholomäus Gölnitz

Bartholomäus Gölnitz (also: Göllnitz ; * August 24, 1557 in Leipzig ; † January 31, 1635 ibid.) Was a German legal scholar .

Life

Bartholomäus Gölnitz was born as the son of the Leipzig citizen Clement Gölnitz and his wife Margaretha (née Stange). After attending the Leipzig city school, he became a student at the local Nikolaischule . He was particularly encouraged by the then rector of the facility Leonhard Wolf (also Lycius) and the later theologian Zacharias Schilter . In 1572 he was able to move into the University of Leipzig , where in 1575 he obtained a bachelor's degree in philosophical sciences. In 1582, on the advice of his sponsors, he turned to the study of law.

On April 5, 1590, he received his bachelor's degree in legal sciences in Leipzig, advanced to a licentiate on November 14, 1594 and a doctorate in law on March 27, 1595 . He became an assessor at the law faculty and the higher court in Leipzig. In 1608 he took over the task of the local syndicus university . In 1611 he became professor of the code and was associated with canon in Merseburg and Decemvir of the Leipzig University. In the winter semester of 1597 and 1611 he was the rector of the Alma Mater . He died as a senior at the Leipzig Faculty of Law and was buried on February 3, 1635 in the Paulinerkirche in Leipzig , where an epitaph was erected in his honor .

Gölnitz married on November 5, 1593 in Leipzig with Anna Heil (* January 27, 1567 in Leipzig; † October 28, 1609 ibid.), The daughter of the bookseller Andreas Heil († October 8, 1582 in Leipzig) and Margarethe Schoenberger ( * 1536 in Leipzig; † April 20, 1606 ibid.). The marriage resulted in four sons and three daughters, of which only one son and two daughters survived the father and two sons and two daughters the mother. From the children we know:
